Global Launch of Callaway RAZR Fit Driver

  The RAZR Fit Driver and RAZR Fit Fairway Woods both feature Callaway’s renowned OptiFit® adjustability system-designed for easy use and noticeable changes in trajectory for each of the settings.  The system allows golfers to adjust the club’s face angle to three address positions: Open, Square and Closed. This adjustment is controlled within the “cog”, a rotatable element of the hosel that changes the angle of the shaft axis relative to the head. Rotating the cog enables golfers to choose a preferred look at address while also minimizing a slice or hook generated by the club’s delivery to the ball. Because the shaft does not rotate with the cog, shaft graphics and grip reminders remain consistent to the player’s look and feel when they adjust the face angle. In the driverhead, OptiFit weights (one weighing 12 grams and the other 2 grams) are featured in the sole’s toe and heal positions.  These are movable and can be exchanged to create a meaningful shift in the club’s center of gravity and a perceivable draw or neutral ball flight.

RAZR Fit Fairway Woods

  Like the RAZR Fit Driver, the RAZR Fit Fairway Woods feature three address positions-Open, Square and Closed. They will be available in a 3-Wood (15°) and a 5-Wood (18°), and allow players to make adjustments based on their preferred look at address and to minimize tendencies to hook or slice the ball. Callaway’s staff of Tour players helped inspire the club design, which features a traditional shape in a compact head size, as well as a shallow face with a low leading edge.

  Callaway has said to be a driver company before, because the company has made many great drivers, such as the Big Bertha driver that was one of the first titanium-headed clubs. In 2011, it release the newest Callaway Razr Hawk Driver which has a bigger and more forgiving club-head.   I bought the Razr and for the first time in my golfing experience I hit every fairway. It doesn’t seem to gain any extra distance but I find it’s very consistent. Callaway Razr Hawk Driver Review

  The Callaway Razr Hawk Driver is not just designed to perform better than other drivers, but it is also designed to last longer as well.  It features an aluminum skid plate to help the Callaway Razr Hawk Driver remain playable for a much longer period of time.  This means that your investment will pay off for many years in the future instead of just one or two.

  Due to the forged composite technology that is featured in the Callaway Razr Hawk Driver and co-developed with Lamborghini, Callaway is able to control the wall thickness.  This allows for a much thinner and lighter body to this club making it easier to swing faster and increase your distance.  This allows you to get off the tee with the distance you desire without giving up much accuracy.

Looks:

The head – being 450 CC, seems a lot smaller than it actually is – and looks great at address. Again I may be biased, due to my love for the FT-3 and the fact that from address these two drivers look very similar… but nonetheless – I’m a fan. The club sets up well – slightly open at address, and to me, a naturally drawer of the ball, this is exactly what I’m looking for. The shaft, the Aldila RIP needs no introduction, it looks great, and I must commend Callaway’s choice in adopting this shaft for this driver. The crown features an arc across the front (which I’ve gotten used to) and the usual Callaway “V” for alignment.
Balance
Callaway deserves major props here. Every year their compostie drivers became better, and better balanced. This one is so well balanced, that even at it’s off the rack 46″ length ( a slice monster in the making for lesser clubs) this thing shoots very very straight. Club head awareness, which usually suffers exponentially for me, once you pass 44 1/2″ overall length, is very–very–very good. You will no where this little puppy is riding at ar all times. That’s a huge plus, as this is also supposed to be THe Shot Shaper’s Driver as compared to the Diablo being the Distance Driver. I am only a mid-capper, so if I am able to use the neutral model and work her left and right–it shouldn’t be  a big problem for anyone else out there. Cally is back in the driver’s seat as far as technology living up to the hype goes.

Distance

Longer than the R11–easily. Able to hld its own against The Burner. Actually, now that I hit The New Diablo further than the new Burner–maybe I should say it holds its own against its “Octane” monikerred sibling. THis driver is plenty liong, but if all you want is grip it and rip it distance, there are a few others out there that can put a good whooping on this one. THere are, however, none of them that can whoop on her, shoot straighter than her, or beat her in the workability department. Even my Nakashima ended up sucking hind tit to this one when you quantify all three factors.

The answer for your Tee Shots

  The biggest advantage to the mid to high handicap golfer that struggles to get off the tee is that the miss hits that are off the heel or the toe are still playable.  This is due to the new design of the Callaway RAZR Hawk Driver  giving it greater forgiveness and allowing the average golfer to have better missed  shots overall.

  The head shape was found to be very pleasing to those that tested the club and the shaft has a red arrow that helps with alignment.  The one con that the testers mentioned more than any other is that the impact was a bit quieter than they are used to.  This is something that one would have to get used to after switching to a golf club with this type of technology.
